Master Lincoln started martial arts after a particularly long Jackie Chan marathon with a bunch of mates in 1988 at Arjuken Karate under, Master Jeff Traish.  His friends did not get into it, but he was hooked after his first session.  Not being very athletic, coordinated or focused, it took over 10 years and two attempts for him to get to black belt.

The school relocated, so he looked around for something closer and found Toodokan and Master John, in Bradbury in 1998 and he intends to be here for the rest of his life.  He started helping with classes at around brown belt and started taking classes after achieving his first dan.  His progression from an assistant to head instructor was slow and error laden but he is determined and dedicated to self-improvement day.

He is a chef by trade and enjoys cooking.  Additionally, he loves traveling off the beaten path on a tight budget, diving head first into cultural experiences and the people who represent them.  A student at heart, he loves educating himself on whatever subject which can add quality and value to his life.  His passion is not just teaching martial arts but finding the ways in which each individual interacts and learns, giving them the tools needed to build self-belief, self-efficacy and agency within themselves so they can nudge the arc of their lives in a better direction.
